Phillippe Côté led the Gee-Gees at the quarterback position from 1996-2000. He was drafted in the sixth round with the 47th selection by the Montreal Alouettes in 2001.

Some of his career highlights include leading the Gee-Gees to the Vanier Cup twice in his tenure at uOttawa. Once in 1997, losing out to UBC and again in 2000 where they took a 42-39 win over Regina to bring home the Vanier Cup. Some of Côté’s accolades include three consecutive QQIFC Awards (Most Outstanding Player) from 1998-2000, the Hec Crighton Trophy for best Canadian player in 1999, the Ted Morris Memorial Trophy (outstanding player in the Vanier Cup), three All-Canadians (2-First Teams, 1- Second Team) and is the uOttawa record holder for TD’s in a season, rushing TD’s in a season and rushing TD’s in a career.

In five seasons played, Côté recorded 32 touchdowns which places him second all-time in Gee-Gees history books. He is also first all-time for touchdowns in a season with 16 and is first in rushing TD’s with 32 all while playing at the quarter back position.
