Bio

Pierre Guindon, born in Apple Hill, Ontario, attended high school in Cornwall and played football at St. Lawrence Classical College. At the University of Ottawa, he played in 1966 and 1967 as an offensive tackle, punter and field goal kicker for Matt Anthony. Pierre garnered OIFC All-Star Honours in both seasons.

A first round draft selection by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1968, Pierre set a CFL record by kicking a 54 yard field goal while leading the Bombers in scoring in his rookie season. He led the team in scoring, during the 68 and 69 seasons with respectively 68 and 64 points. While playing for the Bombers, Guindon also was enrolled in law school. Guindon was traded to Montreal in 1971, but was released after just three games. Guindon returned to University at Ottawa and completed his law degree in 1972 while playing for the Ottawa Sooners junior team which at the time was playing in a senior football league.

Pierre Guindon has practiced law for over 35 years. Following his CFL career, Pierre provided colourful commentary to the French broadcasts of the Ottawa Rough Riders games. He was inducted into the Cornwall and Glengarry Sports Halls of Fame in 1995 and into the Gee-Gees Hall of Fame in 2010.
