The U SPORTS second-ranked Gee-Gees men's basketball team defeated the Laurentian Voyageurs and Nipissing Lakers on Friday and Saturday at Montpetit Hall. Earning a 69-56 win on Friday and following it up with a 79-56 win on Saturday.
On Friday, the Gee-Gees were led by a strong performance by Justin Ndjock-Tadjore, who scored 19 points and added five rebounds in the win. Kevin Otoo added 17 points and five rebounds as well. Brock Newton added 11 points, while Dragan Stajic had eight points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists in a well-rounded outing.
Saturday afternoon's matchup with Nipissing got out of hand quickly as the Gee-Gees led 47-25 at halftime. Ottawa was able to cycle through their bench with 11 players seeing the court, and 10 scoring.
Ndjock-Tadjore and Brock Newton led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds each, with Otoo adding 11 points, four blocks, and three assists in the win. Rookie Cid Ruhamyandekwe was big on the glass for the Gee-Gees, finishing with nine rebounds.
With the two wins, the Ottawa improves to 13-1 on the regular season and continue to sit in first atop the OUA East.
