The U SPORTS top-ranked Gee-Gees men's basketball team defeated Algoma by a final score of 87-50 on Friday night.
On top of the win, fifth-year guard Kevin Otoo reached the 1,000-career points plateau between his career at Humber College and Ottawa.
Otoo, who reached 1,000 on a buzzer-beating three to end the first half, fittingly logged a career-high in scoring with a 29-point performance in the win. The Toronto, ON native also added six assists, four rebounds, and two steals in the win.
Brock Newton and Justin Ndjock-Tadjore also finished with double-digit performance with 18 and 16 points respectively.
In all, the Gee-Gees shot 50.7% from the field and scored 26 points off of turnovers on the evening.
Up next, Ottawa will return home to face Waterloo and #5 Laurier on Friday (Jan. 26) and Saturday (Jan. 27). Tipoff on Friday is set for 8 p.m. and Saturday is set for 4 p.m. Tickets for both games are available at tickets.geegees.ca and will be streaming live on OUA.tv.
