The Gee-Gees men's basketball team split their road trip to Waterloo, securing an 86-68 victory at Laurier on Friday night, before falling 61-51 to Waterloo on Saturday.
In Friday's win over the Golden Hawks, the Gee-Gees had a hot shooting night, hitting 45.7% of their field goals and 48.5% from three-point range.
Ottawa built an early lead, outscoring Laurier 26-13 in the first quarter and maintained control throughout.
Justin Ndjock-Tadjore led the way with 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting, including five threes, while Jacques-Mélaine Guemeta finished with a double-double tallying 13 points and 12 rebounds. Ankit Choudhary had a well-rounded 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Owen Kenney added a career-high 14 points and five rebounds in the win.
The following night, it was a tough night for the Gee-Gees offensively in a loss to Waterloo. A difficult second quarter put Ottawa in a deficit at halftime.
Despite comeback attempts in the second half, the Gee-Gees were handed their first loss of the regular season.
Justin Ndjock-Tadjore led the way with 12 points and seven rebounds. Ankit Choudhary scored 11 points to go along with six rebounds, while Brock Newton had eight points and rebounds apiece.
