The Gee-Gees men's hockey team concluded their most grueling stretch of the season with a 4-2 victory over the UQTR Patriotes in Trois-Rivières on December 3.
DECEMBER 3 at UQTR
Despite the boisterous crowd cheering on the Patriotes on dollar hot dog night, it was the visiting Gee-Gees that found a way to strike first. Connor Sills raced up the right-hand side of the ice and snapped a shot over the shoulder of the goaltender and into the top corner of the net.
UQTR responded just two minutes into the second period to tie up the contest. Undeterred, just a minute later, Kevin Domingue deflected a shot to restore the lead.
Midway through the second period, the Gee-Gees scored in bunches, with Quinn O'Brien and Brendan Jacome scoring just 45 seconds apart to extend the lead to 4-1.
The Patriotes pressured hard in the third period in hopes of clawing back. A late power play in the period gave UQTR hope, but the top Ottawa penalty killers shut every chance down.
With the goaltender pulled, the Patriotes managed to sneak one by Domenic Graham. But it was too little too late, and the Gee-Gees skated away with the victory.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
"I can definitely say that this was the most satisfying game of the streak. Three games in four nights, it's not easy. We had the motivation of trying to replicate nationals and what it would be like to play three games in four nights against good teams. We responded well. It's a tough rink to come in and play on the road, and we reacted well." —Patrick Grandmaître, head coach
