OTTAWA GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders
- Goals: Mathieu Desgagnés – 13
- Assists: Anthony Poulin – 16
- Points: Mathieu Desgagnés – 24
- Wins: Jean-Philippe Tourigny – 7
- The Gee-Gees helped their playoff hopes with a key 3-1 win on home ice against Queen's. With his father flying in to watch after coaching the Arizona Coyotes the night prior, Jean-Philippe Tourigny made 26 saves in a clutch performance.
- A win in either of their two remaining games, or a Queen's regulation loss, will clinch the Gee-Gees a playoff spot. It's still too tight to handicap potential playoff opponents, but there is an (albeit unlikely) scenario in which the Gee-Gees and Carleton Ravens faceoff in the first round.
- Ottawa announced a key recruit last week, with goaltender Franky Lapenna committing to the program for 2023-24. Lapenna is currently with the Gatineau Olympiques and has enjoyed a four-year QMJHL career.
CONCORDIA GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders
- Goals: Alex Katerinakis – 10
- Assists: Isiah Campbell – 13
- Points: Isiah Campbell – 22
- Wins: Jonathan Lemieux – 14
- The Stingers have had the Gee-Gees number this season, winning all three their matchups by a combined score of 19-7.
- Offence has been by committee for Concordia. While Isiah Campbell is firmly in the lead points-wise, nine forwards have 15-or-more points this season.
- Concordia has clinched a playoff spot, but still have work to do if they want to finish top-2 in the division and earn a first-round bye.
Friday's game will be streamed on OUA.tv.
