The Gee-Gees men's hockey team were in Kingston for matchups with RMC and #7 Queen's.
Friday night's game with the RMC Paladins was cut short due to ice conditions. With a 1-0 lead from a Zach Giroux goal, the Gee-Gees will resume their game with the Paladins at a later date. The game will resume from the 5:50 mark in the second period.
Against the Gaels on Saturday, a scoreless opening period welcomed an exciting next two periods of hockey.
Brad Chenier put the first goal on the board at the nine-minute mark of the second period. Mathieu Desgagnes followed shortly after, finding the net on a powerplay opportunity to make it a two-goal lead.
The Gee-Gees held onto the lead throughout the rest of the period, but the Gaels snagged a goal in the first minute of the third.
Ottawa captain, Anthony Poulin responded two minutes later. Peter Stratis (14:45) and Elliot Dutil (17:34) cashed in on more goals, helping the Gee-Gees to a 5-1 win.
The win snaps a four-game losing streak.
Next, the Gee-Gees return to the Minto Sports Complex for a rematch with the Concordia Stingers on Nov. 14. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
