OTTAWA GAME NOTES 

  • Major stat leaders
  • The Gee-Gees are looking to close out the regular season on top. Currently tied with Queen's for first in the OUA East, there is little to separate the teams, especially since their 0-0 draw earlier in the season. Plus, they have the same two opponents to finish things off.
  • Ottawa is on a six-game winning streak. They haven't conceded a goal since Sep. 10 and their slimmest margin of victory since then was a 3-0 win over Carleton.
  • Ottawa's offence has not lacked any production. Cassandra Provost leads the OUA with 22 goals and 25 points, while Jenna Matsukubo leads the conference with 9 assists and Nibo Dlamini follows with 8. 

NIPISSING GAME NOTES

  • Major stat leaders
    • Goals: Jessica Emmerton – 10
    • Assists: Alicia McMurren – 8
  • Ranked third in the OUA East, Nipissing is looking to finish the season strong and make a solid playoff appearance. They're faced with their biggest challenges in the Gee-Gees and Gaels in their final two meetings of the regular season.
  • Nipissing was in Ottawa at the end of Sep. to take on the Gee-Gees crosstown rival, the Carleton Ravens. The game ended in a 2-2 tie.
  • The last time the Gee-Gees and Lakers met, Cassandra Provost scored the only goal in the 1-0 Gee-Gees win.

  • Location: Laurentian Fields

  • Last meeting: Ottawa 7, Laurentian 0 – Oct. 9, 2022 at Matt Anthony Field

LAURENTIAN GAME NOTES

    • Goals: Caitlyne Kervin, Mary Whiffen – 2
    • Assists: Caitlyne Kervin – 1
  • Laurentian has only earned two wins in the regular season but have kept things fairly manageable score wise. Their most significant loss was 3-0 to Carleton, who they came away with a 0-0 draw with the following week.  
  • Last season, Cassandra Provost scored five goals against Laurentian. She has already broken the Gee-Gees regular season goal record that she set last year, but continues to impress with her scoring ability.
  • Like Nipissing, Laurentian is finishing their season with who is likely their most challenging opponents with Ottawa and Queen's.
