- Charles-Antoine Roy scored his first of a team-leading four goals in the only meeting between these two teams.
- The Gee-Gees start the second half of the season top of the OUA Far East division, one point ahead of the UQTR Patriotes. These two programs, racing for the top spot in the OUA Far East, will play each other four times in the back half of the season.
- The Garnet and Grey have the second-best penalty kill in Ontario and fourth-best in Canada, only allowing four goals.

- William Leblanc, who scored twice in the last meeting between these two teams, has signed a professional deal with the Trois-Rivières Lions of the ECHL. Leblanc was in a three-way tie for the first in the OUA leading scorer race. Teammate Julian Tessier is currently sixth, with six goals.
- UQTR is tied for the best defensive record in the province and the best in the OUA Far East, only allowing 17 goals this season. This has been spearheaded by goaltender Alexis Gravel, who has a .933 save percentage in three games this season.
- The Patriotes are a perfect 3-0 at home this season, scoring 13 goals including five on the powerplay.

Sunday will be the men's hockey program's "Ice Out Hate" game. Players on the team will be using "Tape Out Hate" tape from the Hockey Diversity Alliance. The Black Student Athlete Advocacy Council of the University of Ottawa will be present on the concourse during the game and taking part in a ceremonial puck drop.
All hockey fans, players and coaches are encouraged to take the "Get Uncomfortable" pledge from the Black Girl Hockey Club. The pledge can be found HERE.

- The Redbirds are yet to beat the Gee-Gees this season. Through three games they have lost by a combined score of 12-6.
- McGill halted a seven-game losing streak with a 7-3 win in the Corey Cup, against Concordia, to close out the first half of the season. The Stingers are the only team the Redbirds have beaten this season.
- Jordan-Ty Fournier has scored two of his three goals this season against the University of Ottawa.
